Tropical Ballroom stands out for so many reasons!  We are here to make dancing fun, and by offering group classes & private lessons during the daytime, evenings, and weekends, we accommodate all lifestyles and work schedules. Below are some Frequently Asked Questions:

Is there an Enrollment Fee?  No.

Is there a Membership Fee?  No.  You only pay for the series of classes you register for.

Is there a contract?  No.  There is no minimum or maximum number of lessons you must take to be our client.

Do you offer a free trial class?  No.  Instead, we have affordable prices to begin with (with no enrollment or membership fees).

Do people stay for back-to-back classes?  Yes!  We recommend trying different styles for variety (and it beats an exercise class!).  We offer series at back-to-back times for those who want to learn multiple dances at a time.  Register for as many as you'd like!

Do I need a partner?  No.  We offer "optional rotation."  People who don't come with a partner rotate, and the people who do bring a partner can choose whether or not they want to rotate partners.

What are the average ages of students?  All ages!  We have young adults preparing for weddings, 30-somethings with a newly dedicated "date night," empty-nesters finally doing something for themselves, senior citizens who want to keep active, and even classes for kids under 18.

Do I have to buy special shoes?  No... but if you don't purchase a pair of suede-sole ballroom dance shoes, then you must carry in a clean, dry pair of shoes to change into that you will dedicate to your dancing- to protect our floor and everybody else's dance shoes.  Some people dance in socks too!

How long will it take me to move up to a Beginner Level II group class?  It all depends on your commitment, but it can be done after just one 4-week Beginner Level I Series of that same style of dance!  Many people repeat classes to pick up on additional helpful hints including leading and following, styling, and technique that they may have missed the first time while learning footwork!  Don't be afraid to ask your instructor where you're at.

Now that I know how to dance, where can I use it?  Here at our dance parties, in our dance showcases, at local competitions, on vacation/cruises, and at many restaurants with live bands around the Twin Cities.  We also have a website meant specifically for social dancers around the Twin Cities, www.triciadancer.com. You may subscribe to receive a weekly email, or just visit our websites often!
